UAE, DUBAI: Rain and Cloudy Skies Across the Country

UAE, DUBAI — The UAE is experiencing a rainy and overcast day, with moderate to heavy rain reported in parts of Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah. According to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), light rain fell in Dubai’s Jebel Ali and Palm Islands. The rain began in Abu Dhabi during the early hours of the morning, and the skies remain cloudy across the country.

In addition to the rain, cooler temperatures have brought a refreshing change. The NCM predicts highs between 23°C and 27°C throughout the country, with temperatures dropping as low as 7°C to 12°C. Coastal areas are expected to see temperatures ranging from 22°C to 26°C, while mountainous regions will experience slightly cooler temperatures between 14°C and 19°C.

The rain started around 3 AM in Dalma Island and Ras Ghumais, followed by light showers in Al Ghuwaifat at 2 AM. By 6:50 AM, light rain was observed along Emirates Road in Sharjah. Throughout the day, skies will remain partly cloudy, with a chance of more rain in the northern parts of the UAE. There will also be an increase in humidity by night, leading to fog and mist in some internal and coastal areas.

Moderate southeasterly to northeasterly winds, with speeds ranging from 10 to 25 km/h and gusting up to 35 km/h, will blow dust across the country. The sea will remain moderate, gradually becoming rough in the Arabian Gulf by afternoon. In contrast, the Oman Sea will remain slightly calmer.

This weather pattern will provide residents with cooler, pleasant conditions, making it a welcome change from the usual hot and dry climate.
